Ajman
Ajman Free Zone: real costs, licences and review
Long-established, genuinely cheap, with a strong partner programme.
Our view
Ajman Free Zone has operated since 1988, which matters — it is not one of the 2017-vintage budget zones, and that track record helps marginally with banking. It covers trading, services, light industry and e-commerce at the low end of the market, offers warehousing cheaply, and runs one of the more responsive channel-partner programmes in the country.
The constraint is geography. Ajman is roughly an hour from central Dubai in good traffic, and considerably worse in bad. As a licence to invoice from, that is irrelevant. As a place to run an operation with staff, it is not.
